On July 20, 2011, Dr. Andrew Wright, the executive secretary of the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR) visited the Yellow Sea Fisheries Research Institute, accompanied by senior officials from Fisheries Bureau of Ministry of Agriculture. Prof. Wang Qingyin, Director General of the YSFRI, and relevant department heads met with Dr. Wright. They had a broad exchange on exploitation and utilization of Chinese deep-sea fishing resources.
During the visit, Prof. Tong Ling, Director Assistant of the YSFRI, introduced the development and research status of YSFRI. Dr. Wright gave an academic talk on CCAMLR - An introduction and China's early engagement. Researchers and graduate students from Stock Assessment and Ecosystem Management Laboratory, and Food Engineering and Nutrition Research Laboratory attended the seminar. Dr. Wright introduced the development and organization structure of the CCAMLR in details; he also told the audience what an important role China has been playing in CCAMLR.
