On June 27, delegation of 8 people from South Korea, led by LIN Lihao, the President of Academy of Marine Fisheries Science of South Jeolla Province in South Korea, visited the Yellow Sea Fisheries Research Institute (YSFRI). Prof. WANG Qingyin, Director General of YSFRI received the South Korea delegation, and relevant scientists communicated scientific issues with the delegation.
Director WANG Qingyin expressed warm greetings to the delegation and said that, China and South Korea co-owned the Yellow Sea, and the natural conditions and many species on both sides of Yellow Sea are similar. YSFRI is willing to actively promote the cooperation and exchange between YSFRI and Academy of Marine Fisheries Science of South Jeolla Province, and work together to promote the development of regional aquaculture in the Yellow Sea.
At the meeting, Director WANG Qingyin and President LIN Lihao signed a cooperation agreement with respect to personnel training, research cooperation, and academic exchanges. The signing of the agreement will be beneficial for promoting the common development of the two parties and lay a solid foundation for the development of fisheries science and technology of China and South Korea.
The delegation also visited the Laboratory of Maricultural Organism Disease Control and Molecular Pathology, where they had discussions with relevant research scientists. They discussed the breeding, disease control and larval rearing of seaweed, turbot, sea cucumber and abalone culture.
