杨爱国，1982年毕业于原山东省水产学校海水养殖本科班，2000年获中国海洋大学水产养殖学博士学位。一直从事海水贝类苗种繁育、养殖、遗传育种等研究工作。在扇贝、牡蛎、魁蚶、栉江珧等重要经济贝类遗传、繁育等方面开展了深入研究。在国内率先完成单体牡蛎、三倍体扇贝、扇贝远缘杂交等技术的研究，并进行大面积推广。以第一完成人获山东省科技进步一等奖、青岛市科技进步二等奖及山东省专利二等奖等奖励多项；公开发表学术论文100余篇；主编著作3部；发布行业标准1项。2009年被评为青岛市劳动模范，2011年被授予青岛拔尖人才称号。

主要研究方向：（1）采用染色体操作、杂交、选择等育种技术对扇贝种质进行遗传改良；（2）海水贝类健康养殖技术研究；（3）海水贝类人工繁育技术研究；（4）贝类遗传多样性评估和种质监测。
